Sonaur is designed with privacy at its core. We don't require accounts, don't collect personal information, and don't track you across apps or websites.

What Data We Collect

Weather Location Data

When you search for a city, we send that city name to our weather data provider (WeatherAPI.com) to retrieve current weather conditions. This is necessary for the app to function.

We do not access your device's GPS or precise location. You manually type city names—there is no background location tracking.

Usage Analytics

We use Apple's built-in App Analytics to understand how users interact with Sonaur. This includes:

• App launches and session duration
• Which features are used
• Technical performance data (crashes, load times)
• Device information (device type, iOS version, app version)

All analytics data is:

• Collected automatically by Apple
• Aggregated across a minimum of 5 users (privacy-preserving by design)
• Anonymous and cannot be traced to you
• Used solely to improve app quality and performance

Apple's App Analytics does not collect your location, personal information, or identifiable data.

App Preferences

The following information is stored locally on your device only:

• Your selected sonic palette (Ethereal, Lush, etc.)
• Binaural beats settings
• Last searched weather location
• Sleep timer preferences

This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

What We Don't Collect

• No email addresses or contact information
• No account credentials or passwords
• No payment information (handled entirely by Apple)
• No precise GPS location
• No voice recordings or photos
• No health or fitness data
• No browsing history
• No data from other apps

How We Use Your Data

The weather location you provide is used to:

• Fetch real-time weather conditions from WeatherAPI.com
• Drive the generative soundscape based on current weather

Apple's analytics data helps us:

• Identify and fix bugs
• Understand which features are most valuable
• Improve app performance and stability
• Make informed decisions about future development

Website Analytics (sonaur.app)

This section applies only to visitors of our website, not users of the iOS app.

Our website (sonaur.app) uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our web content. This includes:

• Pages visited
• Time spent on site
• Referring websites
• General location (country/city level)
• Device and browser information

Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information. By visiting our website, you consent to the use of these cookies for analytics purposes.

Important: Google Analytics on our website is completely separate from the iOS app. If you only use the iOS app and never visit sonaur.app, this does not apply to you.

Our website uses Google Analytics 4 to analyze visitor traffic and behavior. This is a third-party service provided by Google.

Vercel (Website Hosting)

Our website (sonaur.app) is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel may collect server logs and performance data as part of normal hosting operations.

Apple

Apple provides App Analytics automatically for all apps in the App Store. This data is collected by Apple, not by us, and follows Apple's strict privacy standards.

Apple also processes payment information for any in-app purchases and subscriptions. We never see your payment details.

Data Storage and Security

• Weather location searches are sent securely to WeatherAPI.com via HTTPS
• App preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults
• Website is hosted on Vercel's secure infrastructure
• Website analytics are stored on Google's servers
• No personal data is stored on our servers
• No data is sold to third parties
• No data is used for advertising

Your Rights

All Users

• You can delete the app at any time to remove all local data
• You can opt out of App Analytics by going to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share iPhone Analytics (toggle off)
• You can contact us with questions about privacy

International Users

Because we don't collect personal data that can identify you, there is no identifiable data to access, export, or delete. All analytics are aggregated by Apple and cannot be traced to individual users.

Children's Privacy

Sonaur does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences and contains no content requiring parental supervision.

If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, please contact us and we will investigate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as we add features or respond to regulatory changes. We'll update the "Effective Date" at the top when we make changes.

Significant changes will be communicated through the app or our website.

Future Features

Sonaur Pro (Coming Soon):

Future versions of Sonaur may include a paid subscription with health data integration. If we add these features, we will:

• Update this privacy policy with detailed health data disclosures
• Request explicit permission through iOS HealthKit authorization
• Process all health data locally on your device (never transmitted to servers)
• Provide clear controls for managing health data access

You will always have full control over health data permissions.
